At first I didnt like the new version, Night Sky 4. I thought iCandi had taken away two of my favorite features. 1️⃣ Being able to view the universe in differen spectra, you know, xray, ultravolet, infrared and others besides "optical" (what our own eyes can see. 2️⃣ Being able to control the magnitude of the stars onscreen to match what the conditions around me permit. At home, urban sprawl limits me to only first & second magnitude stars, and there is no Milky Way. However, in a Jeep or in a boat, I can get far from the madding crowd and see so may stars that the Milky Way seems solid. Weather affects the view a lot, and I really need to match the onscreen view to the actual sky view. ➡️ Turns out that these two my favorite features are now tucked under g̤̈ë̤s̤̈ẗ̤ṳ̈r̤̈ë̤s̤̈, how cool, but if it hadnt been for "Tips" appearing now and then I might not have rediscovered them. Oh what joy when I was reunited with the spectrum control and the magnitude control!
